For hotel-style accommodation, Scenic Suites Queenstown fits the bill. Located close to the town centre, the rooms are compact and well-presented. Add daily breakfast for a hassle-free ski holiday.
If you want something a touch nicer than 4-star, 4.5-star accommodation is the perfect choice. Without much of a price increase, these properties offer beautifully presented suites and apartments for couples and families.
Spacious, central, and well-appointed, Blue Peaks Apartments offer a home away from home during your ski holiday. Perfect for families and groups, these fully equipped self-catering apartments face onto a quiet tree-lined street opposite the Queenstown Gardens.

Coronet Peak and The Remarkables do not offer on-mountain accommodation. This is because the access roads are steep and the base areas relatively small, which means facilities are limited. Snow does not typically fall as low as Queenstown itself, so skiers must drive high into the mountains to reach skiable terrain.
However, Cardrona Alpine Resort (just 1 hour and 15 minutes from Queenstown) does offer on-mountain apartments. But most skiers still prefer to stay in either Queenstown or Wanaka when skiing at Cardrona. This is because availability is very limited, and because Cardrona offers virtually nothing to do once the lifts close each evening.
If you will be taking mountain coach transport rather than driving, stay as close as possible to the town centre.
If you are renting a vehicle, you have the option to stay farther out, either to escape the crowds or to enjoy more extensive resort facilities.
And finally, some accommodations sit closer to one of the two ski fields. For example, Hilton Queenstown Resort & Spa is just a 30-minute drive from The Remarkables. Meanwhile, a few smaller boutique options sit near the foot of the Coronet Peak access road.
